Kitchen & Dining

The kitchen and dining area is where lighting and everyday tools matter most. This edit brings together pendant lights and chandeliers for over the island and table with the coffee gear, cutlery, utensils and serving pieces that live in the kitchen.

Lighting the island

Over a kitchen island, two or three pendants spaced evenly along the bench usually look better than one. A common guide is to hang them about 75–90cm above the benchtop. Neutral white (around 4000K) is good for food preparation, while warm white feels more relaxed for dining.

Over the dining table

For a dining table, a single larger pendant or chandelier about half to two-thirds the table's width works well, hung at a similar height. Dimmable lighting lets the same table go from homework to dinner party.

Pendants and chandeliers are hardwired and must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Coffee gear, cutlery and serving pieces are in the same edit, so you can finish the kitchen and the table in one order.
