Glass Lighting

Glass changes the character of light more than any other material. Ribbed and hammered glass break the light into a soft, textured glow; stained glass adds colour; frosted glass diffuses it evenly; and clear glass shows off the bulb itself. This collection brings together our glass pendants, wall sconces and table lamps.

Choosing a glass

Clear and lightly tinted glass gives the most light and suits kitchens and task areas. Amber, smoke and coloured glass give a warmer, lower glow that suits living rooms and bedrooms. Frosted glass is a good choice wherever you might see the bulb directly, such as a sconce at eye level.

Bulbs

Many glass fittings take a standard bulb that isn't included. With clear glass, a decorative LED filament bulb looks best; with frosted or coloured glass, a standard warm white LED works well. Each product page lists the bulb type.

Glass shades are easy to keep looking their best: wipe them with a soft cloth once the light has cooled.
